The Pentagon Shows Growing Interest in Ukrainian Technology

The Wall Street Journal has reported that American startup companies have formed partnerships with Ukrainian drone manufacturers to develop more efficient drones for the US military.

According to the report, the Pentagon is showing increasing interest in Ukrainian technology, as American startups that have invested billions of dollars have struggled to produce effective and low-cost drone models.

The Journal noted that with the failure of American drone technology to prove its effectiveness on the battlefield, defense startups have allied with Ukrainian manufacturers to build better and battle-tested drones to meet the needs of the US military.

Ukrainian manufacturers have produced over two million drone units in 2023, and the cooperation between the US and Ukraine in drone manufacturing is likely to continue, even as talks about a possible peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine continue.

Last year, California-based startup CX2 signed an agreement to put its software and sensors on Ukrainian drones, with the cooperation receiving approval from a branch of the US Army. The technology is expected to be deployed by US forces soon.
