IDF Announces Airstrikes on Syrian Military Sites to Eliminate "Future Threats"

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had conducted airstrikes on Syrian military sites in southern Syria, which "posed a threat to Israel." IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that "fighter jets attacked during the night hours in southern Syria, targeting radar systems and surveillance means used to gather aerial intelligence."

Adraee added that the airstrikes also targeted command centers and military sites containing weaponry and military vehicles belonging to the Syrian regime in southern Syria. He noted that the presence of these systems in southern Syria poses a threat to the State of Israel and IDF activities, and that these sites were targeted to eliminate future threats.

According to Syrian media reports, Israeli airstrikes targeted several former Syrian military sites in the Al-Kisweh area southwest of Damascus, as well as the First Division in Sa'sa' near the city of Qatana in the Damascus countryside.

The Israeli fighter jets also conducted 28 airstrikes on the 89th Regiment in Jbab, the 12th Brigade, and the 175th Regiment in Izra' in the Daraa countryside on Monday evening.
